Hi,

1.) Which tool (and which version) is capable of converting *.94-banks (the ones that came with the EWS64XL on the CDROM) into *.TTS-files?
I have tried Ed!son 1.9 (which is latest version) but it either crashes or loses banks from memory without doing anything.
I have then tried Ed!son 1.0. It converts, but it does not keep the drumsets in the *.94b-files.

2.) How can I load SF2-soundbanks into Ed!son? When I try to do so, it says that they are not SF2-files...

I then have tried DOS-tools on the tools page here in the stress-pages, but they say that they are no SF2-files...
I also have tried SF2 on these pages to do that, but the results are the same - my SF2-files are no SF2-files. I wonder, how they can put these soundbanks on their pages then?

So, I wonder, what can be so complicated about them? What else can I do to convert them.

3.) The Soundsets (GM/GS) contain several variations of the basic GM-instruments. But why arent' they coded so that variation #2 will switch to another 127 sounds, variation #3 to another 127 sounds, why are the sounds so "littered" in the soundset? Sometimes there are only one or two sounds in a variation.

4.) Which is the best tool for reorganizing soundsets, optimizing their size, deleting sounds with reduntant samples etc.?

5.) What are FM-parameters?

And finally: ;-)

6.) Can the MIDI-footswitches be programmed so that they will trigger something else but sustain and glide (e.g. rotor fast/slow, vibrato fast/slow etc.). I could not find anything about the footswitches in the manual.

Best regards and thanks a lot for any help that you can provide me with.
Lutz.
